Marsh Grass Planting at Blackwater NWR
May 30, 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Location: Blackwater NWR
The third and final event will be a marsh grass planting at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Participants will be planting Smooth Cordgrass (Spartina alterniflora) in areas of Blackwater that are restoration sites or marsh migration corridors. Participants should expect to get dirty and wet. A limited number of waders will be available, so bring shoes and clothes that can get dirty, as well as a change of clothes. Additionally, participants should bring a water bottle and sun and insect protection. Pizza will be provided after the planting.
