Drop-In Art Saturdays

Join museum educators in the museum's lobby from 10 a.m. to Noon on the 3rd Saturday of each month for this new family art program that is fun for all ages.  Your family can drop-in, make and take fun art creations home with you. All children should be accompanied by an adult. Crafts available while supplies last.

June 20- Screen Painting  The Ward Museum is proud to have John Iampieri lead a screen painting workshop here at the Museum for Drop In Art this month. John's screens are a fascinating form of folk art that originates from Baltimore. Bring the family and paint a beautiful artistic screen for your door. .

May 16- Raptor Sketching Come to the Ward Museum, May 16 and join local illustrator Tracey Arvidson during the Delmarvalous Festival of Traditions, as she leads a lesson on live raptor sketching. The Salisbury Zoo will provide the museum with live birds. This is sure to be a fun exciting lesson.

Come to the Ward Museum, April 18 from 10 am to 12 pm for this month's Drop In Art on Beading. Join Georgie WalksWithHorses Mayo, a member of the Bear Hawk Society, a Native American spiritual society on Delmarva comprised of members of different tribes from around the country, as she teaches basic beading techniques to children of all ages.

March 21- Red-Headed Woodpecker Silhouettes; The Drop in Art activity will be Red-Headed Woodpecker Silhouette Carving. In preparation for the upcoming World Championship of Wildfowl Carving Festival, come in and learn how to carve and paint a lovely silhouette of a Red-Headed Woodpecker. More information to come.

February 21- Foam Printmaking; The Drop in Art activity will be Foam Printmaking with Matt Smith. Students will employ easy-to-use and safe materials in this fun introductory printmaking lesson. Upcycling; The Drop in Art activity will be Upcycling magazines. Join Lyndsay Schoen for an exciting lesson on how to put old magazines to new uses. Lindsay Schoen is a junior Fine Arts major at Salisbury University. Previously the Creative Arts director for a YMCA summer camp, she enjoys teaching art projects and processes to others in a fun and creative environment, and often uses recycled materials in her crafts.
