Crisfield, MD (map)

Join Jay Fleming for an interactive photography workshop on Smith Island. Enjoy a ferry ride from Crisfield to Tylerton, one of the three towns on the marshy archipelago. Jay Fleming and a local guide will take the students by boat to photograph Pelicans at the largest nesting colony on the Chesapeake Bay. The wildlife shoot will be followed with a still life and portrait shoot at a crab shanty with one of Tylerton's watermen. As the sun gets lower on the horizon, Jay will take the students onto the bay to photograph a waterman fishing for crabs in a Chesapeake style Deadrise workboat. Students should expect to arrive back in Crisfield 45 minutes after wrapping up the sunset shoot. Dinner will be provided, please bring a brown bag lunch to eat on the ferry and snacks.
